Rick Stein's Cha Ca

Simple lovely dish. The fish and marinade are a great combination. Simple to make, and refreshing to eat. I'll have this one again.

I found it great with a nice bottle of wine. We had a Tahbilk Marsanne with it.

Rick Stein's Cha Ca

This weekend will be the Fried Fish with Turmeris and Dill ( Cha Ca ). It looks so simple on the TV and Rick mentions it was life changing for him. Lets see how it matches up. I'll update the notes and add pictures during the weekend.

Khmer Pork, Coconut and Pineapple Curry

Linh quickly made up the Cambodian Khmer Curry Paste. The smell was magnificent !

We saw Rick cooking this one up the first time we saw the Far Eastern Odyssey show, and it made my mouth water. I am one for a good Asian curry, and this looked a treat.

As the Curry cooked away, you could almost feel the sensation of the curry happening. I couldn't wait to try the curry, it looks so nice.

I'm not normally one for pineapple, but it really goes well with this dish. Each of the ingredients and flavours all combine to make a wonderful dish.

Served up, even the kids dug into it. Now that telling you how good it is.

From what I could see, being the bystander, no the cook. It wasn't a very difficult meal to make.

We had the curry along side the Cured beef Salad with Lemongrass, peanuts and basil.

The Begining

Well, yes this has been done before, but we wanted to blog on the cooking sensation of Rick Stein.

For a while now we have had a number of his cookbooks and DVD's, but his latest is just amazing.

It was by accident that we came across his show on the ABC - Far Eastern Odyssey, and what a mouth watering episode. http://www.abc.net.au/iview/#/view/552124

Khmer Pork Curry, Spicy Green Mango salad with Smoked fish and a sweet and sour dressing to name a few of the recipes.

We aim to cook through the Far Eastern Odyssey, and supplement some of his other recipes over the next 12 months. We'll share the delights and tastes of the food. Highlighting our favourites.

Let the journey begin
